Hundreds of transgenders gathered here on Tuesday (27th December 2017) to take part in the seven-day all-India kinnar conference, which is being held in Hamirpur for the first time.
The presence of transgenders from various parts of the country has become a cause of amusement among the local populace.
People are thronging the two guest houses where the transgenders are staying.
Neelam, a kinnar from Kanpur, said the conference would highlight the problems being faced by transgenders, promote the need for discussions on various issues, and seek unity among transgender groups across the country.
On the first day, the participants conducted deliberations on various issues till late at night.
